Is the 2021 America's Cup still going ahead?
Yes! The 36th America's Cup is going ahead as planned here in New Zealand. There is no doubt it will be a scaled down event in terms of spectator numbers to what we were expecting. But the races are going ahead as planned and the challenger teams have been granted exemptions to enter the country.
American Magic from the New York Yacht Club have been the first team to arrive in to New Zealand and we are unashamedly excited and a little star struck when the boys, along with Terry Hutchinson pop in to the office for a coffee!
When will Superyachts be allowed in to the country?
We are making progress on this front. Read the full article on this here.
Can I charter a yacht over the America's Cup?
Yes. There are a number of yachts - large and small available for charter over the cup. The location of the races offers plenty of opportunity for a mixture of spectating and cruising. All races are to take place in the late afternoons so you can spend your mornings and ealry afternoons exploring all the many nearby islands have to offer. You can view a selection of yachts available here at our website. Contact Fleur, for availability and a tailored itinerary suggestion to make the most of your time.
At the time of writing the New Zealand government is not allowing foreign nationals to enter the country. So in order to charter a yacht you must be a New Zealand resident at this stage. We will be making an announcement as soon as this restriction is lifted.
