Fiji is a destination that truly comes to life when explored by yacht. With over 300 islands scattered across the South Pacific, this tropical paradise offers secluded beaches, world-class diving, and a warm, welcoming culture. Whether you're new to yachting or an experienced charter guest, a superyacht allows you to experience Fiji in a way that simply isn't possible by staying in a resort.
At 37South, we specialise in crafting bespoke luxury charters designed around your travel style, ensuring an effortless and unforgettable experience. In this guide, we’ll cover why Fiji is the ultimate yachting destination, the best time to visit, must-see locations, and what to expect on board.
A private yacht charter offers unmatched flexibility, privacy, and access to some of the most breathtaking places in Fiji:
Fiji enjoys a warm, tropical climate year-round, but the best time to charter is during the dry season from May to October. This is when most of the luxury charter yachts are based in Fiji, ensuring a wider selection of vessels and the best conditions for exploring the islands.
While charters are possible outside of this season, the dry season is the optimal time for a seamless and luxurious experience, with the best weather and a full fleet of yachts at your disposal.
With a yacht, your itinerary is completely customisable but here’s a glimpse into what a Fiji charter could look like.
A journey through the Mamanuca and Yasawa island chains takes you through some of the most iconic and breathtaking parts of Fiji.
For those looking to go further, this extended itinerary offers diving, cultural experiences, and hidden gems beyond the popular island chains.
Remember every journey is completely bespoke and tailored to your preferences. Whether you want an action-packed adventure or a slow, relaxing cruise through paradise there are plenty of options for you.
A 37South yacht charter is designed to be effortless and fully tailored to your preferences—your own private floating retreat in the heart of Fiji. From the moment you reach out, our team works closely with you to create an itinerary that perfectly matches your vision. Here’s how it works:
The cost of chartering a yacht in Fiji depends on several factors, including the size of the yacht, duration of the trip, season, and level of luxury. Chartering as a group or with multiple families can also help reduce costs, as the rate is for the entire yacht rather than per person. As a rough guide:
These rates typically cover the yacht, crew, and standard amenities, but additional costs like fuel, food and beverages, dockage fees, and activities are usually calculated separately under an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), which is typically 25–35% of the base charter rate.
This amount is paid upfront and managed by the yacht’s captain to cover onboard expenses. Any unused funds are refunded at the end of the trip, while any excess costs will be settled before disembarkation. Fiji also charges a 5% charter tax.
At 37South, we work closely with you to ensure transparency in pricing and to customise your charter to suit your budget and preferences.
There’s no better way to experience Fiji than by superyacht, and with our local expertise, you’ll have access to the best of what this paradise has to offer.
Whether you're after world-class diving, cultural experiences, or simply relaxing on your own private slice of the South Pacific, we’ll craft the perfect itinerary for you.
